Accounts Receivable Council

In accordance with the Louisiana Administrative Code {4:XIII.Chapter 1*), Northwestern State University has created a body to provide oversight for collection policies and procedures for all goods and services provided by the University.  The ARAC at NSU consists of standing membership from across the divisions of the University.


Business Affairs

A composite of administrative units whose functions are to provide operational support. Consists of Student Accounting and Cashiering, Accounting and Budgeting, Human Resource and Purchasing units. The Business Affairs' Office is dedicated to providing personal, prompt and efficient service to all students and campus offices, support for the University's fiscal operations and accurate and timely financial reporting that is compliant with state and federal guidelines and regulations.


Disclosure Information for Northwestern State University

The Higher Education Amendments of 1998 (HEA98) mandates that the University annually distribute to all current and prospective students a notice of the availability of institutional and financial assistance information required to be disclosed pursuant to the Higher Education Act amendments, and pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) which governs access to student educational records maintained by educational institutions and the release of information from those records.


Information Systems

Responsible for the promotion, support, and security of electronic data systems, network infrastructure, hardware, and usage at NSU.


Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC)

"A University level council appointed by the Provost that advises the University administration, the academic community, and participants in the budget-making process, concerning the planning, purchase, and use of technology and telecommunications, particularly as they relate to research, teaching, and learning."


Northwestern State Technology Enrichment Plan (NSTEP)

"To ensure the most efficacious expenditure of limited funds, the University has initiated a planning process for the procurement and use of technology. The five-year technology plan is organized into a series of organizational, access, support, and innovation initiatives."


Office of Grants and Contracts

A resource for identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive proposals, and managing funded projects.


Office of Institutional Research

Integrating and transforming institutional data into objective information that informs the decision-making, planning and evaluation processes of the university. The office tracks, analyzes and reports information on key performance indicators to state and federal governing agencies, non-profit organizations and public-interest groups.


Office of Internal Audit

"Prepared to familiarize the University community with the Office of Internal Audit and its function and to provide useful information that will assist others in the effective discharge of their duties and responsibilities."


Office of University Planning, Assessment and EEO

Responsible for university planning and educational assessment and equal opportunity/affirmative action policies.


Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Vice President for Academic Affairs coordinates the University's various colleges, programs, and services.


Office of the Vice President for External Affairs

An extensive and diverse segment of the university that includes Intercollegiate Athletics, Informational Services, Alumni and Development, Institutional Advancement, NSU Press and University Printing Services.


Physical Plant

Providing cost-effective and responsive service staff to maintain NSU's physical environment.


Plant Services

Provides Physical Plant department with a support system that is responsive and accurate to meet their needs for supplies and materials.


SACS Reaffirmation Project

Developed in preparation for the 2007 SACS reaffirmation process.
