Euro Heritage Tour 2009
On April 23, 2009, the Geography 3060-Geography of Europe class held Euro Heritage Tour 2009. The students formed themselves into groups, and chose a country from Europe from out of a hat, and assumed the role of Heritage Tourism Coordinator for that country. The group was charged with putting together a tour of their country which was focused on heritage sites, including ancient archaeological sites, cathedrals, cemeteries, battlefields, and anything else that they considered to be an important part of that country's heritage. The students then presented their tours to a group of travel agents, who then judged the tours. The travel agents were students from Geography as well as History classes. The event was a great success, and all of the students, both presenters and judges, had a good time!
